Creative Direction/ Design/
Early on during the cration of GRØSS magazine we started receiving (daily) hundreds of young artist submissions through social media. There was a clear lack in direction for young, talented and local aspiring artists. How do they become the next Pollock??? They lacked gallery representation and a place to meet like minded locals. A few beers in the backyard and we decided to launch RELISH, one city at a time in an attempt to re-establish local artist communities. We brought in local sponsors, created an epic magazine that each artist chosen can use as a portfolio piece to jumpstart their career. Oh and released 2,000 magazines during a pop-up group art show. Each magazine contained 35 local artists and 11 artist created stickers (each was hand-placed). Our first launch was in our home town of San Francisco. We rented out the Bookbinders Museum, south of market. Lagunitas donated 900 beers (we drank them in 2 hours, so quick and so many people showed up. We had security and they said it was a 30+ minute line based on capacity). There was only one small graffiti mark in the bathroom after and the show was a wild success. Enjoy.
